Scrutoscope is a community gift. It exists because the author spent years building P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler), saw how much it helped people understand their sites, and wanted to build something better — with modern WordPress, modern PHP, and everything learned since 2011.
There are no accounts. No tracking. No upsells. No premium tier. No "free trial" that expires. It's yours, it works, and it'll keep working.
Scrutoscope is a single WordPress plugin. No external dependencies, no SaaS backend. All profiling data stays in your WordPress database. The optional report sharing feature uses end-to-end encryption — the relay server stores only ciphertext it cannot read. Decryption keys never leave your browser.
Open source under GPL-2.0-or-later. Read every line on GitHub.
Questions, bug reports, and feature requests all go to GitHub Issues. That's the only support channel, and it's monitored by the person who wrote the code.
Honestly, it's a passion project. No investors. No sponsors. No Patreon. Just a developer who thinks WordPress deserves better performance tooling and has the stubbornness to build it.
